Celebrating Life’s Beauty & Creative Expressions
Our annual 1,800-mile road trip from Florida to Colorado has usually been a rushed ride. But this trip was refreshingly different. Personal business required my husband and me to swing north to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, so we decided to try something reminiscent of our travel writing/photography days. We set aside time for sightseeing.
As a result, we enjoyed 3,000-plus miles accented with stunning views, heart-melting sights, music and conversations, people’s various creative expressions, and nature’s exquisite beauty from tender spring leaves unfurling to raw, rugged mountains and canyons.
In these Musings & Aha’s, Rose shares highlights of her road trip in two parts: Springtime Awakens Across America and Unique Creative Expressions on America’s Prairie.
Springtime Awakens Across America
Springtime was in full bloom when we left Florida but in the Colorado Rockies, fresh snow capped the mountain peaks.
As we started our journey northwest, skeletal trees that had looked dead in February were sparkling with brilliant green leaves. Robins, the harbingers of spring, cast aside any doubt that the seasons were in full transition.
Our first sightseeing destination was New River Gorge National Park & Preserve in West Virginia.
Unique Creative Expressions on America's Prairie
Each one of us is a passionate artist as we express our tastes, styles and talents in creative ways.
Yours may be sleuthing for ancestors to add to your family tree. Crafting exquisite wooden bowls or quilts or furniture. Taking photos of birds and sunsets. Painting landscapes. Preparing a delicious meal or baking mouth-watering desserts. Or restoring classic cars, to name a few.
On our recent journey across the MidWest, my husband and I happened upon several unique and impressive examples of creative expression. They ranged from the whimsical to the majestic.
